Gainesville Couple Shatter Preconceptions About Seniors Traveling Long Distance

A lot of people believe that the majority of seniors who make it past age 70 are too sick or tired to travel long distance by car on their own. Some 50 year old people even imagine that life becomes mostly sedentary after another two decades pass. Helen and Ron Mack of Gainesville, Georgia, proved everyone wrong this past summer when they packed up their Honda CRV and hit the road for a 37-day trip that took them through 26 states from the East Coast to the West Coast and Canada along 10,100 miles of highway. Helen and Rock are both 75 years old.

The couple already had a history of traveling around Europe and decided that since they had never traveled that much within their own country they wanted to see the United States from the road perspective and catch up with family and friends who lived far away. After deciding to take a somewhat circular route across the states at the bottom of the map, up along the West Coast into Canada and then down the East Coast, they recognized their own physical and mental limitations and pre-planned the trip, including gas prices and rest stops. They also paced themselves by only driving eight and a half hours daily and taking turns at the wheel. They told Jennifer Linn with the “Gainesville Times” that they hope to travel to different U.S. areas again soon and plan to fly to certain states and then visit destinations via rental car.

Experience a Working Ranch

The time is running out for this year’s season to be able to enjoy a ranching holiday in the northeastern corner of Nevada at the renovated Cottonwood Guest Ranch in Wells. Five generations of the same Smith family have been the owners and operators of the Cottonwood Ranch for over 50 years and have now added Tom and Alecia Maxey as co-owners. Their goal is to give you the ranching experience of your dreams.

Cottonwood Ranch offers a warm, western welcome to their many guests who crave working on a real ranch, unlimited horseback riding, taking part in a variety of special weeks by going on one of four horse drives and camp-outs of six-night duration, on one of three mountain pack trips for five days including a visit to the historic mining town of Jarbidge, cattle round-ups, daily herd monitoring, trap-shooting, watching wildlife and birds, and more.

You would be sure to enjoy the hospitable sanctuary with seven bedrooms and sleeping accommodations up to 19 people and exploring the alpine mountains of the Jarbidge Wilderness, one of the continental United States’ wilderness areas that is the least traveled and which has the highest number of peaks that are more than 10,000 feet in Nevada.

The Ranch is located in the O’Neil Basin that was once the home of cattle rustlers! Its elevation is just above 6,000 feet, and it is said to have the purest air in the lower states of the U.S.

For a unique adventure, swing into a saddle and ride the range and be a working cowboy or cowgirl.

New Travel Option to West Coast from Poland

Earlier this month, LOT Polish Airlines announced its plans to offer non-stop long-haul flights to and from Los Angeles four times a week via Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplanes starting April 2017. Poland’s oldest airline has already set up its home page to allow travelers to book their 2017 flights starting at $649 USD and currently offers flights to four other North American cities.

Industry experts believe that this is just the beginning of the airline’s long-term plan to command a greater segment of this market. On Thursday, October 13, 2016, the Air Lease Corporation announced that LOT Polish Airlines arranged long-term lease contracts for six 737 MAX 8s at a delivery rate of two planes per year in 2017 and 2018 and one per year in 2019 and 2010.

Boeing 787 Dreamliners are long-haul twin-engine planes designed with wide enough bodies to accommodate 242 to 335 passengers depending on the seating arrangements. They are constructed of lightweight materials for high fuel efficiency and more comfortable flying. Boeing 737 MAX 8 jetliners are lightweight long-haul planes specifically designed to follow in the footsteps of the 787 Dreamliner and accommodate between 162 and 200 passengers. They also feature winglets that help reduce the amount of power needed for takeoff, which increases fuel efficiency. Travelers to and from Los Angeles on LOT Polish Airline flights look forward to an unparalleled experience via a fleet of planes that are far younger and more efficient and comfortable then many of the planes from other carriers.

LAX Airport Gets New Security Lanes, Improving Travel to West Coast

Many travelers to the west coast of the United States fly into LAX airport in Los Angeles, and they are often faced with long security lines. This will soon be a thing of the past, as LAX is the most recent airport to announce the installation of ‘innovation lanes.’ These new lanes are an effort to expedite certain security checks for approved travelers.

There will be a total of two new lanes installed in the airport by the end of October, just in time for fall vacations and year-end holiday travels. The lanes will utilize conveyor belts that allow five occupants to unload luggage and be scanned by standing security officials. This is a great improvement compared to the one-person at a time rule that was previously in place.

If traveling to the west coast through LAX Airport, you can expect to place your items on a belt, rather than a bin, as security checks for liquids and other potentially dangerous materials. That is, if your able to get into one of the new innovation lanes. Given the traffic routed through these, standard lanes should have less of a wait time as well.

LAX is not the first airport to install these expedited security lanes, as Newark and Atlanta have done so recently as well. The lanes have been deemed as efficient by consumers and many are looking forward to getting through the airport faster.

The airport is also planning other improvements for west coast travelers, such as enhanced training for staff that focuses on friendliness, and more direct flights.

West Coast Oil Resistance Could Boost Tourism

The past several weeks have been great news for those interested in traveling to the West Coast, but were hesitant about exposing themselves to the polluted climate there. Several key states along the West Coast have decided to make a stand against the oil industry, ensuring that their environment can finally be protected from prolonged exposure to all of the chemicals commonly associated with the oil industry.

In terms of specific states, Washington and California seem to primarily be leading the charge against the major oil industry players. This shift in politics also represents a shift in public opinion. While people have been content to let large industries have their way with the land, there’s been a rising trend in environmental awareness, especially on the West Coast.

Although this may seem like a poor economic move at first, it’s likely that this will have a tremendous impact on the already booming tourist industry along the West Coast. By stopping the oil industry from continuing to expand or negatively impact the environment unabated, the West Coast has opened itself up to new possibilities for tourists. While it will likely take some time before the effects of these new regulations and proposals are observed, it’s good to know that people will have a beautiful tourist opportunity well into the future.

Of course, in addition to having a positive effect on future tourism, these proposals also act as a sort of “ground zero” for future proposals in other states. It’s likely that rejecting the plans of companies like Shell will ripple out into other states where other city councils are debating similar plans.

After the recession of 2007, the company had experienced massive losses and moved to Southern Nevada. Ken Goodrich acquired the company in 2013. Since then he has led the company to paths of growth and great success. In April 2016, the company had grown enough and expanded its offices back to its initial home town in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is where Goettl’s first products and services began.

Mr. Goodrich’s experience with Goettl and air conditioning goes to the time he was aged ten. He frequently walked with his father on air conditioning servicing trips. He was there to hold a flashlight as his father went out to service equipment during the evening. Mr. Goodrich has often stated the kind of mentorship and training he received from his father to have built him to the successful person he is. As an owner of Goettl, he has managed to expand the company and now owns Moore Air Conditioning. Moore Company has a long history of air conditioning services and equipment that date back to 50 years. The merging of the two companies makes Goettl double its experience and the quality of services it will offer.

Goettl plans to grow through acquisition of a new workforce. Mr. Ken Goodrich has signed up a deal with the college of Southern Nevada through the air conditioning program offered by the school. Goodrich plans to have the trained students from the school work at Goettl upon graduation. The above is an indication of Mr. Goodrich’s service to the community through creation and offering jobs. Betting On The NFL The Right Way

The NFL is one of the largest sports organizations on the planet and certainly the biggest in the United States. Every Sunday families gather around the television to watch some of the greatest athletes in the world compete in some brutal action. Behind the scenes, ever so slightly, is a teeming world full of people who are gambling on the game. Sports gambling can be a ton of fun and it certainly can be exciting if you know what you are doing. Today we are going to talk about sports betting – specifically betting on NFL odds, which can be played on, and how you can turn your football watching experience into a profitable one.

The first thing that we are going to talk about with sports betting is the fundamental ins and outs of the action. When you bet on an NFL game you are going to be betting in a few different potential ways. You’ll either be betting around the spread, the number of points projected either way in an outcome, or the over/under. You can also make bets on parlay systems which means: if X wins by X amount while Y scores a certain amount, then Z is the outcome. These parlay bets are super tough to fulfill but they can be worth a ton of money if you make it happen.

Next up we are going to talk about making your bet on Game Day. The NFL is an up to the minute sport where stuff is always happening. You can’t go five minutes on a Sunday morning without an important announcement being made. Even still, you should have spent much of the week preparing your bets and setting up a way to rebound from these sudden changes. Go to your sources, whether they are or NFL Twitter feeds, and keep refreshing there until you see that your game has locked and you are ready to sit back and watch. Once the games are under way you are pretty much in the sweat it phase.

Sweating it out, in sports betting, means paying close attention tot he games because you are waiting to see how much money you win or lose. Sweating isn’t a ton of fun but it is always going to be exciting. You just never know what is going to happen during kickoff, you might end up with at on of money or you might end up going bust.

Atlanta Falcons Show How to Travel Long Distance as a Team

The Atlanta Falcons surprised fans recently with a detailed account on their website about how they prepared for a 10-day trip to Washington state. The team had the option to split their time between staying in Denver and Seattle, but Spencer Treadwell, their director of logistics, ultimately chose Seattle with a two-night Denver stay. Treadwell stated that he chose Seattle because of the willingness of the University of Washington to host the team.

With more than 22,000 pounds of equipment and the team’s luggage to ship ahead of them, Treadwell and Brandon Ruth, the logistics manager, tackled a huge challenge of not only shipping everything across country but also making certain that the team would have a “seamless” experience. According to the blog, the Atlanta Falcons often take up at least 11 conference rooms and 140 bedrooms whenever they travel away from home. Treadwell, Ruth and Dan Quinn, the head coach, pull off long-distance trips like this one by doing everything possible to maintain the routines that the team experiences at home when away. They believe that these efforts bring the team closer together and help create a greater connection between teammates.

Whether these efforts help the Falcons to win remains to be seen. The Atlanta Falcons hope for a fifth consecutive win when they face off against the Seattle Seahawks at the CenturyLink Field on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Fans of either team can watch the game on Fox station channels in their local areas at 4:25 p.m.
