gardz_canI left off last time anticipating a trip to Home Depot with Chip to pick up some Gardz and Damp-Rid. We eventually located the Damp-Rid in the painting section of the store, but the Gardz was nowhere to be found. They did have other Zinsser products like B-I-N primer / sealer and Bulls Eye 1-2-3- primer / sealer, but we really wanted to get the Gardz since we have (very) damaged sheetrock. We headed to Sears next, and after searching their paint department and asking their employees, we left empty-handed. Next stop: Lowe's. Like Home Depot, Lowe's had other Zinsser products but not Gardz. So we went home lacking the product we needed most.

The next day, Chip went to our local paint store, and not only did they have Gardz but they also gave him some helpful advice and assured him that it was the product we needed. Success! After Chip returned from work we determined the walls were dry and we applied the Gardz with paint rollers and brushes. It has a very liquidy consistency so I was glad we'd taped off our edges and put a tarp on the floor... we had Gardz all over the place!

After we'd finished, we were done for the day as the Gardz needed to dry for at least 3 hours.gardz

Stay tuned for the next step: putting up sheetrock tape!
