He commits his personal time and assets to charities in his community, like the Joel A. Halpern Trauma Center at Westchester Medical Center, where he is heavily invested. This Level 1 Trauma Center has the facilities and expertise to offer open-heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery and reattachment services. This center also cares for those with life-threatening internal injuries, burn victims, children, pregnant women. Those are just a few of their services and types of patients.
Jason Halpern not only has passion for philanthropy in his own life. He also brings that passion to his company. He has enacted many charitable initiatives through JMH Development. In 2015, the company launched a partnership with a global water charity, where he donated $20,000 of every single contract signed at the company’s Miami-based development to aid the funding of water projects in Nepal and Ethiopia. JMH Development is credited with assisting in bringing clean, safe water to over 650 locals.
Halpern’s father, in addition to being a real estate developer, was also a national champion in offshore powerboat racing. He was unfortunately killed during a boating accident in 1981. His development company was then sold to Reckson Associates in the 1990s.
Jason Halpern has a teenage son, from a previous marriage. He enjoys spending time with his son, and often takes him to football games and scuba diving in Costa Rica and Mexico. He is engaged to a model from the Ukraine, Veronika Gomeniouk.
His penthouse apartment happens to be in the same building as his office, giving him one of the easiest commutes in the city. This rental conversion has been the largest project his firm has completed.
