A method for brain training that is practiced by Neurocore with the Portland Trail Blazers is to relax the brain after a game. They have their own separate room for that, which is much different than their hectic weight training room. In this “Brain Room”, athletes are attached to an EEG head monitor which is able to determine when the person is outside of the calm focus “sweet spot”. One way in which they do this is by having them watch a movie after a game to relax their brains. If, during the movie, they get distracted, the monitor stops the movie until the focus is regained. The brain wants the reward of watching the movie, so it refocuses on the movie and the monitor resumes playing it.
